Description of BNSS Section 57 - Person arrested to be taken before Magistrate or officer in charge of police station.
A police officer making an arrest without warrant shall, without unnecessary delay and subject to the provisions herein contained as to bail, take or send the person arrested before a Judicial Magistrate having jurisdiction in the case, or before the officer in charge of a police station.
Offence | Abetting commission of offence by the public or by more than ten persons. |
Punishment | imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years and with fine |
Cognizance | According as offence abetted is cognizable or non-cognizable. |
Bail | According as offence abetted is bailable or non-bailable. |
Triable | Court by which offence abetted is triable. |
